The First Cause? Prime Mover Argument

It's a stupid argument, and atheists shouldn't feel obligated to entertain this line of reasoning. We don't know exactly why the universe exists. We have great hypotheses, some of them enjoy considerable support from the empirical data we've collected, but still ... there's so many unanswered questions, so much we have yet to discover, all we can say is, we don't know. To the theist, filling in our ignorance with absurdity is a badge of honor, which is ridiculous when you think about it (for more than 5 seconds), yet for some reason many atheists feel compelled to take a defensive posture, which implicitly cedes to their ridiculous reasoning (as if not knowing everything and not being able to answer every question on earth somehow weakens our position, it's absurd).
