Regardless, the U.S. education system is absolutely abysmal, and when you get into the inner cities, calling it an "education" is a farce. Michigan's education system is especially bad, and Detroit's is one of the worst in the country.
You ask anyone that works in a college and they'll tell you that their students on a whole are woefully under prepared.
