Try again....and get some (they don;t even have to be "good" - don't agonize, say, "I'm going to get a grey 4 door sedan")? This stuff doesn't "just happen" for other people either...you know.... You've identified the problem, above....with an added side of guilt and shame, of course....lol, but that should be all you need. Try to fix that, and if what you do doesn't work...try something else. Throw shit at the wall until something sticks.
-There you are, I've given you a step by step manual on assertiveness that is unambiguous and easy to follow. It may never help you to -feel- assertive......but if you asked someone watching you try until shit stuck whether or not you -were- assertive..............you want it, go get it.
"I am relentless, I am always there, now and forever, follow me" - Some "poetry" to help...lol
(assertiveness, command, leadership...these are all about "doing things", if you do things..people will follow, period. You don't need an argument, you don't need to persuade. Assertive people follow other assertive people, everyone switches hats....they are not significantly different from you, nor you from them - "The Myth of Command" - sort of stuff. Assertiveness that works is not an elusive attribute, it is the effect of hard work. Grain of salt in all of this, of course...because thats my indoctrination talking whether what I said is true or not....lol)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
