What I hate so much about Prometheus is mainly
1. It lifts the fantastic mystique of "Alien" surrounding the creature and the alien ship, but to add insult to injury, does it so artlessly that I have to make a conscious effort to pretend Prometheus doesn't exist (or isn't canon) when I watch Alien.
2. It is an insult to anyone who has ever made an intellectual effort. It wallows in not knowing things and celebrates the virtues of believing bullshit for bullshit reasons. The writers are so much steeped in a mindless mix of pomo relativism and diffuse religiosity that they are unable to form a coherent thought. The dialogue is so thinly painted with a veneer of philosophoid rambling that is not really philosophy that it makes Star Trek technobabble seem artfully crafted in comparison.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
