I wonder why noone mentioned the "war is fun" diarrhea of the 80ies and 90ies. Such as Officer and Gentleman, Top Gun and later on Spielberg's Private Ryan. Or the Pearl Harbor from the Bushy years.

Um, if you thought "Saving Private Ryan" was a "war is fun" movie, you weren't paying attention. WWII veterans had flashbacks from the opening D-Day scenes because it was so realistic. One of the greats, IMO.
As far as the Matrix movies go, the second one was so bad that I refuse to watch the third.
