I feel like "Kill 'Em All", because it is a début album, is somewhat clumsy and too "fresh" in its organization - It's obvious that Metallica had a lot of musical maturation and experimentation ahead, but for a debut album it's still pretty damn good - I also think it's the most trashy album of all - After "Kill 'Em All", Metallica experimented with ballads and heavy metal but they were never as trashy as in the first album - And even bands like Slayer are arguably more about speed and black/hardcore metal than trash, hence why the labels confuse me.(June 27, 2015 at 3:43 pm)Dystopia Wrote: My favourite album remains Ride The Lightning but I think Kill 'Em All is extremely underrated - My favourite Metallica song is probably The Four Horsemen.
"Kill 'em All" is simply awesome. I've always felt that the production quality on Lightning was inferior, though the music is excellent. I've owned it on vinyl, tape, and CD and it just lacks an edge that's present on KEA and later albums. I think someone in the studio done fucked it up.
Yeah, Four Horsemen is an epic song, though Creeping Death is probably my favorite between the first two albums.
I think we should create a thread to discuss metal and hard rock.
