For me it's that dirtiness. Like with Lamb Of God, you wouldn't say they lacked that bulldozer element, but their later albums lost a lot of dirtiness; that sound of the pick scratching against the strings, or a little bit of feedback. I fell off with them once you could barely tell they were playing guitar. I don't like my metal to be too polished.
