I wish we'd done it sooner, but we aren't so very far behind. The first country to grant equal homosexual marriage was the Neatherlands in 2001. http://www.freedomtomarry.org/landscape/...ernational Britain and France only granted that right in 2013. Much of Eastern Europe isn't quite there yet. ibid

The reason I'm so very proud of the U.S. right now is that we did it despite our high percentage of Evangelical and Catholic Christians, not to mention all of our Mormons.
