For my money, Izzy was the heart of that band -- between him and Steven Adler, they created that shambling groove that gave AFD so much of its charm. SCoM is a damned good song, but stuff like "It's So Easy" or "You're Crazy" were for me the backbone of that album -- just simple raunch played at high volume with plenty of grease in the groove.
After Izzy and Steve left the band -- hell, even before -- they settled down into a staid four-on-the-floor hard rock band, to my ears -- no funk, no soul, just loud guitars and louder drums.
