Naturally, I have spent years learning how gear works and how to get the best possible sound (subjective to me of course) out the gear that I continue to buy and sell. Why the buying and selling? My quest for "truth" or tone, hence my name tone chaser. I've been through more gear then I have bowls of cereal. But I will say that my current setup has pretty much stayed the same for about a year. I'm proud of that! Haha and my wife is happy that I've spent less money! The 77 just proves that I'm a middle aged sentient being. 1977 was my birth year.
I become somewhat of a tone chaser later in life with my acoustic guitars, but that only entails new strings and shaping my nails just right.
I've noticed that it can go two ways: a person either buys an endless carousel of gear, and talks a big game, but never leans to play, or they're prodigious freaks with amazing sound. The former is more common in my experience.
But I'm not challenging you or anything
