I'll probably regret getting involved in this but here goes.

I don't think that you are using the term "abortion" correctly to make your point. The act of performing an abortion by trained staff (medical or surgical) ensures that the fetus is not viable (dead) at the time of exit from the cervix/womb. I'd think an MD would know that.

If you are discussing preterm delivery, where abortive steps have not been taken, and the fetus has been delivered alive, and there are medical staff present that have the ability and facilities to sustain life and did not make the attempt then you need to report those instances to your attorney general. See Born-Alive Infants Protection Act of 2002. If you are referring to the Kermit Gosnell case (the only one I know of, if there are others please let me know) he is considered a rouge and was convicted of murder.

Do you have any documented instances of your left to die or intentionally killed scenario? Or are you just stirring the pot?

You are right in th sense that the goal of abortion is to ensure termination of the fetus and there for current techniques ensure termination (duh) however as I said earlier why could you but not instead insisted on preterm delivery and attempt at survival. That was my point. If the only question is the mothers bodily autonomy then take that out of the equation. If the question is the mother does not want this child in the world for whatever reason then that is a different question isn't it? Once the fetus is out of the body what right does she have to determine if it lives or dies and even if it is her why does she get to decide that it dies instead of is delivere? If a woman decides at 36 weeks she does not want a child (long past the point of viability) and had a procedure performed that kills the fetus in utero has she committed a crime? If so then why is it different at 20 weeks if the fetus is potentially viable? Why not deliver the child in both situations ? If it can be supported medically then it lives if not it doesn't but it is given a chance. Who cares if the mother wants it to live if the crux of the arguement is bodily autonomy
