- If you spend 4 hours with a beautiful girl, it will seem as though only 5 minutes passed by.
- If you spend 5 minutes with your hand over a burning fire, it will seem as though 4 hours have passed.
In essence, time flies, when you're having fun - that is relativity.

I'm always blown away at the timescales involved with anything cosmically speaking, or geologically speaking...
I liked the approach that they used on the new Cosmos, where they compressed the whole time since the Big bang until now, into one calendar year:

The Earth shows up in September... life somewhere in late October to early November... sex starts at the very ending of November... Dinosaurs die out at the 30th of December. We, humans, are a blip on this cosmic calendar... and yet, some think we're so important...
