We didn't -make them-, Hussy, we provided them with the weapons they required in order to further their aims, which then aligned with ours....so yeah, the US gave them money (but we gave the money to the taliban, not AQ,..btw, you're being very loose), but don't pretend that they weren't homegrown just because they cashed a foreign check...lol. It would have been silly for them to refuse the offer, as it would be silly today.
