The Noah story is simply a war story. The word "flood" is a metaphor for an irresistible force. An enemy army swept through the area on a killing and pillaging rampage sweeping away everything. Noah and his clan were collaborators and when it was all over Noah's grandson Nimrod became the big wig in the area. If you notice the story uses metaphors for war and peace, such as "raven", "dove", "olive branch" and others.
And since the lands around the Garden of Eden existed without interruption during and after the flood without any record of them ever being under water the conclusion must be that the watery flood never happened.
Are there any Jewish fairy tales that people won't believe?
