America is certainly better off far more than it was at it's founding, but our history of mistreatment of minorities has a long history.
Genocide of Native Americans, slavery and lynchings, women not being allowed to vote, discrimination of LGBT. And to have the asshole we do in office now is an insult to all those prior who struggled and even died to create that progress.
His crybaby supporters have no damned clue what a real victim is. Treating your fellow citizens equally is not giving them special rights. Not getting everything you want all the time is also does not make you a victim.
The GOP preys upon fear and their current leader is a result of decades of selling that fear.
