Hi there, as I mentioned in another thread:
The traditional way of teaching religion is incorrect. Drilling and forcing religious scripts into a youths mind and then claiming negative consequences if they don't follow, is not the way to go. People who teach like that must have had a painful life experience and want to vent their anger on the youth. This in turn kills the creativity and freedom of thought when these kids grow older. In fact, many of these kids grow up rote learning their way through school!
People should be free in making their own choices. This religion is all about making peace with yourself first and foremost so that you have better relationship with others and you avoid all the bad temptations in life. If you like to learn more about it, I suggest reading books or listening to some lectures or even attending a local mosque.
However, if you don't want to live this kind of a lifestyle you are also free to do so. Don't blame a religion just because it was taught to you in the wrong way. Now that you are older, you can make your own choices.
Hi there,
Notice how I mentioned the average person... I understand that for you heavy metal songs won't affect your mind. That's because you are probably an above-average person and know clearly what is right and what is wrong.
But there are many kids whose minds haven't matured and can think its cool to live based on what is delivered through the lyrics.
This religion simply claims that the disadvantages of listening to these songs outweighs the advantages. The goal of this religion is to keep you protected from negative influences.

I have never heard a religious person say truer words. Cause that is EXACTLY what religion wants to do to a mind. Drill it into them over and over until it causes a bias in their future opinions. You hit the nail on the head brother. Only the bias that results from religion often ends up killing entire races of people.

So very very true - and the Muslims and the Christians have it down to a science.
