As the title suggests, this page is dedicated to demonstrating the true calibre of hunters. One way in which this might be achieved is by showcasing the many ways hunters (Australian women and men) tirelessly and selflessly serve their communities in a variety of highly responsible roles, often as volunteers and at great personal risk.
This page will demonstrate that far from being the mindless drunken yobbos the media, aided by the Greens and various anti-hunting groups would portray them to be, hunters are in fact amongst the most responsible and highly regarded members of society.
Ways in which hunters serve their communities are too diverse to cover comprehensively in this introduction, but often include commitments as volunteer firefighting (RFS), Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) personnel, St Johns volunteers, surf lifesavers, ambulance personnel, doctors, nurses, the men and women of the armed services, humanitarian aid workers, teachers, Meals on Wheel volunteers, conservationists and wildlife rescue volunteers...the list goes on.
If you are a hunter who also contributes to his/her community in some responsible capacity, you are invited to make a brief comment below citing some details about your contribution/s. You will be doing so not in order to boast, but rather to stand united in proud peaceful and above all sane opposition to media sponsored negative stereotyping and facebook pages such as the perverse and principle-free zones known as "I Love Hunting Accidents" and "Scum Watch". If you are unfamiliar with them, contributors to these two pages promote hatred and cultural intolerance, while unashamedly admitting that they derive pleasure from human suffering.
The Hunters' Calibre in not a page for debate or discussion, but if you would like to post a picture of yourself engaged in some community service, along with a little detail about that service and your hunting discipline too, you are most welcome to do so. You are also welcome to invite others to contribute, and, of course, to 'Like' this page.

Australia has a HUGE problem with introduced species decimating our native flora and fauna, hunters are a part of the controls in place to address these animals. Unfortunately, it seems that "greenies" would rather see our population poisoned from baiting programs in our water catchment areas that has currently lead to the sharp rise of feral animal numbers.
