I didn't expect that it would take so much time to evolve my civilization, but that's actually a good thing because I like slow progress and enjoying the experience.
I'm playing a standard game as the Russians, the way to win is by conquering/defeat (I picked this to get used to battling on the game and to make it easier for my first time), I picked the map of Russia for geographical coherence, I made an alliance with Morocco, I'm not at war with anyone, currently I'm on the medieval age and I'm topping the overall statistics (yeah I'm playing on the easier difficulty). The game felt boring at first but as I played it it got more and more interesting, I'm looking forward to see more.
What social policies do you guys pick?

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
