Can we stop pretending religion is harmless?

I didn't know we were O_o

Not all atheist ignore the harm it does, but even on this page I do get the compartmentalization.

All religions, and I do mean all, for whatever good people point to in them, you still find others who use the same label to justify harm. It is a refusal of our species to face the fact that there are too many individuals in our species that are unaware of the tribalism they defend and too many individuals whose good intent of empathy allows cover for those who would cause harm. We need to foster the evolutionary reality that our species behavior, both good and bad is in us, not holy books or religious labels.
