It's only your arrogance and self-centeredness that tells you it should be for discussing your religion.
We atheists tend to work toward being open toward people who differ in opinion, and thus we welcome theists here in a way that is not, repeat not, reciprocated by the theists, who almost universally treat us like shit wherever they hold dominant social control.
Strictly speaking the part I bolded isn't correct. AF.org bills itself as a place where people of all beliefs may have discussions. I don't like to think of it as exclusionary. But the coin of the realm is discussion, and one trick ponies who want to promote their brand are not tolerated. Personally I don't care if Randy stays or goes. He is the first person I've put on ignore in years.
I'm sorry, apparently I mistakenly read Atheist Forums at the top of the screen.
We do welcome people of all beliefs, and we do welcome discussions. It's my favorite thing.
But this is not, repeat not, quote, "a forum for discussing Christianity". It's just a favorite and common topic.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
