Are you disputing the fact that he was also an athiest?
He was not doing the things he was doing because he was an atheist. Atheism is just one of the things that is an underlying philosophy communists like to promote. Stalin killed church clergy and members who opposed his unfettered power, not because he disliked their faith. He was perfectly willing to buddy up with the church during WW2 to help inspire people to fight for Mother Russia.
Saying that Stalin is an example of "militant atheism" would require that he did it because of his atheist beliefs. He did not, and it is not fair to say so. Using Stalin's atheism as an example like that is no better than people who point to a black guy who commits a crime and says, "See? Black thugs!"
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
