True. But you can usually get a tattoo removed, earn more money, or find a new job - or even beg your old boss to take you back. There might be no going back from late termination of a pregnancy, even if it seemed like the right choice at the time. And yes - I do think people should think for more than a week about all of those things anyway. Especially tattoos - they're usually horrible...
I get your point. I really do. But we can't outlaw things just because someone might make a rash decision that they will regret for the rest of their lives. I am reminded of my OBGYN who, 2 years ago, refused to perform a tubal ligation on me. He said I was too young at 24 to decide that I never wanted to have another child. Ugh. Even if I'm being rash. Even if I might regret something. As an adult person, I should be free to make my own choices and deal with the consequences however I see fit.
