This, exactly. I don't understand how this extreme polarization and sensationalism has happened. It's almost as if people are enjoying it. Is it our access to social media? That we have a voice now, instead of being passive viewers?
I actually read this comment today in response to a friend's almost gleeful blow-by-blow account of today's events: "I should move to California. Nothing ever happens in Arizona".
