I'm really not sure what to think of this. One the one hand, it's pretty good rock. It reminds me a bit of Poison somehow, or some of that genre.
The video is pretty cheesy. They had to get the drummer flipping his drumstick, for example, something that hasn't really been cool since about 1980. So it feels like a band lost in a time machine-- bordering on Spinal Tap, almost, in the way it's so strongly stereotyped. I mean, they're expressing a lot of long-haired hostility, but it's soooooo old that it just can't be taken seriously today IMO. I mean, the guitarist is using this extreme body language like he invented guitar playing or something-- he's so into it, but there are probably literally 100,000 guitarists today who can play all that stuff. The best moment is right at the end, when the drummer drops his drumstick like he's dropping a mic: "Yeah, motherfuckers. We DID that shit! Take that, Motley Crue!" I gotta say, I freaking LOVE this video!
But after all this-- I listened to the song, and I quite enjoyed it, and I will listen to more of their songs, so. . .
I quite liked this song:
Soundgarden and Foofighters had a baby! Foo's song The Pretender has a very similar energy flow, methinks.
