You are making the assumption pms are not used to send a message or to allow those pulled over to make a case. You are assuming they are going to take action on a single peep. I have never seen them take quick action outside of spammers and sock puppets. I have no doubt that if someone has been banned, it was over time and thoroughly discussed before action is taken.
Now, I have been an admin and mod on other websites, I am currently an admin on one FB page. I can tell you this page has a staff that goes out of it's way to be fair.
Now again, do not confuse this as being your property. We are still guests here. But even with that, I have yet to see any action they have taken as a sudden public execution with no warning. You are not going to get a utopia here, but you also will not get me to think they are going to be abusive.
You're jumping to conclusions here. I am not trying to get you think they are abusive, merely that they can make mistakes and if they're interested in making less mistakes, I propose certain courses of actions, as humbly as possible.
No matter how much consideration or discussion is involved prior to banning someone, it is all behind closed doors. A person who reports something is in that case the accuser, and the accused doesn't get the chance to defend himself prior to getting banned. Not to mention there is no use of the current warning system that I can see. Now when the staff comes and looks at the reported posts or content they might very well be biased against someone, even collectively. That is a possibility, I think you'll agree.
