Yeah, that was interesting Still confusing but a bit more clear thanks to your guide I guess my 'homework' before Sunday should be to watch a few more of those to minimise the potential annoying interruptions of questions There were a couple that stood out... and were clear enough to have a pretty good idea what was going on... like the one where one team was near the end zone of the other, but the defending team managed to get the ball and run past them uncontested all the way back down the (open) field to score a touchdown at the other end. So yeah, I think I will get the hang of it, but just need to watch a bit more... but it's great to finally have a basic understanding not only of the game, but also the terms used and how it's scored/statted (i.e. the 1st and 10 thing etc)... so that should help it all come together. And yeah I am UK so it won't be on terrestrial TV and we don't have Sky Sports, so a streaming link would be good, thanks
Hehe, yeah. Him and I are best buddies. I often joke to Shell B that I only married her so I could hang out with her dad more.

I think you're talking about the one at 3min 43s? That was an interesting and controversial play actually. The team with the ball (the Saints) were kicking a PAT (i.e. they'd just scored a touchdown and were trying to kick a field goal for an extra 1 point. The ball got kicked, but was blocked by a Denver player, and another Denver player picked it up off the ground and ran with it all the way down the other end. However, because it was on an extra point attempt, it wasn't a touchdown, but a "defensive two-point conversion", and so he only scored 2 points. It was controversial because on replay it looked like the Denver player with the ball stepped out of bounds (the white area at the sides of the field) which would have ended the play.
I knew it
Yeah, that's the one... I've just looked at it again several times... the guy (number 34) didn't look out of bounds to me (or borderline at most) (see, won't be long before I'm calling the ref a cunt along with the rest of yer ). But as you've explained it, now it makes more sense why it was easier to understand... because it was stopped so they could take a kick. It was very sneaky of the defenders to 'block' it like that, but as many times as I watched that clip, I couldn't see exactly how they got the ball from him to number 34, but it wasn't a slow motion, close up replay so I guess that's understandable. Now if you could just do another commentary in English of all the other nine plays then we'd be laughing... just kidding... unless you want to, then not
