Here's something to think about. What if the Confederate statues and monuments had not been ordered for removal? What would have happened in Charlottesville? Or better yet, what wouldn't have happened in Charlottesville? To many Southerners those Confederate monuments are a connection to their ancestry and culture

1. Blaming the violence on a township removing a statue is bullshit
2. No what we should consider is what would happen if white nationalist scumbags had not driven a car into someone killing them .
3. For a great many southerners it is a reminder of there ancestors being sold like cattle. And a veneration of the men who defended it.
4. I'm sure we can find people in Germany who would feel the same about the Nazi's . It's an argument from  antiquity
