I think the purpose of many things that's happened in the past like the crucifixion was to remind us of just one single thing and that is love. Love ourself, love our neighbors, love our brothers, love our sisters, forgive, don't harm others etc I think those are the values we should follow but if God wanted to we would've only gotten one single option "just do this", no free will. I think the free will we got is a gift and it shows just how much we are loved that our creator would risk tainting his own creation just so we can have freedom, or it could be like a test because freedom will bring our true selves to light, like if a person is really poor he will be very nice and stuff to others but if he won a lottery(like getting free will) then he has a choice to either keep being nice or suddenly deviate towards a negative side.
You are correct. He created us to know one another which is love, he created us to know him which is love, and he connected us all together through a mystic link known as love.
And highest form of love is to appreciate, and may God guide our hearts to appreciate ourselves, others, and the chosen ones and guides, his revelations and books, and make us appreciate the Praiseworthy, Majestic King, God lord of the worlds.
The 2nd phrase is a beautiful way to look at it.
Love is beauty in it's secret interior, love loves beauty, but at the end outer beauty is just parables in math form of balanced interior beauty, which is but love.
You said in your words what some people take a life time to discover.
