If they're a political figure (Like SHS) then I think it's perfectly fair to deny service to them.
If, however, they were an ordinary citizen, then I don't think it'd be fair.
Though I'm not surprised many of them same people who are okay with discriminating against gay people, are against this type of discrimination. Apparently your political beliefs are held above your sexual orientation for some people. Probably because they're actually at risk of being discriminated against.
