I'm not lazy.
However, when I worked in aerospace, I got the real-time programmer to automate any test that I could. I almost got stuck taking insertion loss measurements of some polarized subreflector panels, measurements that would have taken months. The automated setup reduced test time by a factor of 8. There was always more work to do that didn't involve rote data-taking.
