My only hope is that the Repugnican party suffers serious damage when their spineless, amoralist Senators vote to to acquit a man OBVIOUSLY guilty of crimes threatening our democracy.
It is ironic that the Republicans of the 19th-century were at least willing to try Andrew Johnson on far less grievous "offenses" (namely, for having a political backbone) than the open-felonies of Donald Trump, even in an era where political corruption was the norm.
Of course Republicans were willing to try Johnson. He was a Democrat.
The more things, change, the more they stay the same.
