So what? When we call it the Golden Rule, we are referring to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Except that the golden rule is older than Jesus Christ and even Judism.
Even if your fictional character taught it to his fictional disciples, it's not his, originally. It's a remake of an older, far more entertaining classic.

How do you know it's false? Were you there when it happened? Were you there when the writer wrote about it? Did you live in the society where the laws were made? What's wrong with children spouting scripture?

I'll take an atheist stripper mom over a zealot who thinks that vaccines cause mental retardation any day of the week. One of them works a job people find distasteful to feed her children and the other spends her time telling people to vote for her so she can remove the HPV vaccine because she believes (with no evidence) that it causes mental retardation.
Kudos if you know who the zealot is because she's running for President of the United States of America right now.

Your kids will say whatever you want them to say. How else, in their minds, are they going to have a bed and food. When they go to their Dad's, they'll tell him whatever he wants to hear. They believe nothing at this point, nor should they be expected to. IMHO.

I don't know if you've ever met chidlren or if you've simply decided this on your own without a factual basis. Either way, you clearly underestimate how capable children are.

Children are ignorant of the world and lack the kind of knowledge and experience to make proper decisions.
The ability to make rational decisions is not a skill as it is an inherant talent possessed by most human minds and can exist independantly of experience and knowledge. So, yes.
Because otherwise, children would be incapable of learning.

For example: As a small child that understands what a square, circle, and a hole is and ask him (or her) if he can fit a square toy into a circular hole. Let him take his time and test out the toys if he has to. If he ultimately says "no." Then that child has made a rational and scientific decision based on evidence and testing baesd on a hypothosis with a verifiable conclusion - the whole thing.

Ergo, insinuating that children are not rational is an insult to the entire human race.
