Auction Idea
Ok, so some of the staff have discussed the idea of having an auction to raise funds for the new server. The idea being that instead of just donating money, you can bid on items in the hope of making the winning bid.

This is mainly a thread for discussion of the auction itself; what things we could auction, etc. Unless anyone has any better suggestions, I think we should have the auction on eBay, since we can easily create an account and have all the items in the same place.

I intend to put some of the atheism-related books that I've collected over the years up for auction. This includes a copy of "The God Delusion" which has been signed by Richard Dawkins. The full list can be found below:

I don't want to waste time (and money) by putting books up for auction when nobody has any interest in bidding for them, so I would appreciate it if people could let me know which books on the list they would consider placing a bid for (even if it's only $1).

In addition to books, professional writer Shell B would be happy to offer a blog post to a person with a blog or any text they needed for anything (with a word count limit of course).

The idea is that anyone can offer up something, whether it is something material or a service of some kind. So if you have something you think could be auctioned off, tell us!

I plan to make the auction last over a number of weeks, by adding a new item each day and not all at once. The duration of each auction would be 5 days. Of course, if people would prefer all the items to be auctioned at once, let me know.

RE: Auction Idea
Tonight I'll add God is not Great to the auction. I originally intended to add only the books that would sell, but apparently I can put books up for auction for free, so I might just add them all up over the next few weeks and see who gets them.
