Whose idea was it to segregate news stories on slack?
Simple question. Whose idea was it to segregate news stories on slack to a separate channel that nobody will read?

We don't have a formal process for deciding things on Slack. This was my idea, a solution to something that was becoming an issue. Getting on #random and seeing a wall of news quotes was getting to be too much.

More than one person had expressed their dislike of the news feed in #random. I repurposed another channel so that we could keep #random reserved for conversation. Invite people to the channel you want people to discuss with, and do it there. Or slow it down a bit.

Or don't, just know people dislike it. It's not a rule. It was a request by me on behalf of other members.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I support this. It's just a request to go about it a bit differently. It looks like an old blog roll up in there, Jorm.

I support posting news on a separate channel from random conversation.
