YOU!

RE: YOU!
So you agree(d) that there is no evidence of the supernatural Daystar. Finally you've actually said what you think on this matter. Just what I expected but you never actually answered me when I asked! Finally you admitted it!
Ok so no evidence and the burden of proof is on you. You might as well believe in anything undisprovable. The FSM, the IPU, Zeus etc.
Finally you admit you are making a 'faith claim'. Its simply blind faith. Belief that is not based on evidence.
An existence claim is a scientific claim. No scientific evidence of your claim. Then no evidence at all of your claim. Because you claim the supernatural exists.
If you don't claim the supernatural. How do you believe in God? How are you a Christian?
You have made a faith claim. You have no evidence. If you return after the ban is lifted I will know exactly how I stand with you. Finally. I wouldn't have to ask anymore because I know you believe because of faith! Blind belief! You admit there's no evidence!
Bye at least for now Daystar.

RE: YOU!
If any part of the "supernatural" were observable, it would, by definition, become part of the natural world, and therefore stop being "supernatural." How can you provide evidence of that which cannot be observed?

We observe new phenomenon all the time. Some of these observations are so surprising that they lead to paradigm shifts in physics and other fields. I think it is rather hubritic to think that science is "true" and all else is "false." Time and again, science has been proven at least partially wrong, and I think it a very safe assumption that there will be amazing discoveries in the future.

That said, science is the best explanation that we have so far, and I will certainly take it over some intuited wild guess regarding a creator whom certain people have imagined to be a certain way, and who they claim tries to communicate with us through their crazy writings. Belief in such a thing is reckless and harmful, to say the least.

Daystar said there was evidence for so long. Finally he said: "There's no scientific evidence". And science deals with existence claims. So if there's no scientific evidence of existence, there almost certainly is no evidence of the existence of God AT ALL. Because science deals with existence claims. Why didn't he just admit ages ago instead of repeatedly digressing and talking about completely different things. And then expecting ME to answer HIS questions. lolSmile

Hmmm...I would have said that supernatural occurrences are things that cannot be explained by science and natural laws. So there could be evidence of a supernatural occurrence as long as a scientific explanation couldn't be found for it. Unfortunately for the theists, every single miracle they have ever pointed to has a rational explanation behind it, as do proclaimed psychics and all the weird spiritualist cults.

RE: YOU!
But the thing is science is about existence claims about the universe. So to detect the existence of something it has to detected scientifically. Right?
If the supernatural is not an existence claim - if its not a claim about the universe - then its just a metaphor - its not supernatural.

Lifes a bitch, then you marry one.

I had a friend when I played CoD2, I asked him what his philosophy in life was or something...

I found that funny lol.
