Greetings and salutations!
I'm an atheist from Northern Virginia who's not so much anti-religious as totally indifferent to the whole religious paradigm. Like many others, I was raised in a religious family, but after due investigation and thought, I just gave up on the whole thing. I'm looking forward to many enlightening discussions and debates!Smile

Welcome to the forums! I see you are a 'Bright' I assume that's the Bright atheist group (that refer to themselves as 'brights' instead of atheists).

I used to be part of the Brights, mainly because they helped my student group on a few occasions, but I don't think they are worth it anymore. I'm more on the side of Hitchens (who recently became my favourite of the 4 horsemen) when he calls the name "Bright" arrogant.

Why can't we just be atheists! Grrrr.

Good point.That's why I just normally label myself an atheist(I'm more of a Dawkins type atheist myself Smile).As of right now the Brights seem to be more of an online thing than anything else, so while I agree with them on many points, I really don't consider myself a "follower".Tongue
