I remember arguing with a friend in our college cafeteria over the word spoken by Gandalf to open the gates of Moria. I was adamant it was 'mellon', whereas he maintained it was 'merlock' (some sort of bizarre perversion of 'morlock', perhaps). Needless to say you'll all know who was right.

Nerds and geeks are pretty much the same thing here. There are just levels of intensity (the stench) within the labels.

Also, if nerds are cool, then I would no longer call them nerds. Nerdy things are becoming increasingly acceptable to most of society. It soon won't be nerdy any more, just common place.

I don't really care anyway. I don't care what other people enjoy. People will like what they like.

Yeah, I've found increasingly that there's a wonderful curve to a man's interest when he finds out a woman has an obsession of some sort. Passion, I should say. But it can't be about dolls or cats or whatever. Guys get all hot and bothered when they find out I LOVE plants, and then slowly the interest wanes when they realize how deep the obsession goes. But it's great for a few minutes.

I like it when girls have hobbies / obsessions. I have a few hobbies myself, but most of the people I know don't really seem to have any... watching movies, drinking and going out don't count! Girls getting into detail about their interests is hot. Talking about last weekend's party or some tv show isn't because I don't care

Yeah it is depressing... there seem to be a lot of people who just do surface level things but don't have any deeper interests they pursue... It's like there is no fire in their life... maybe that is what it is. They seem dead inside.
