RE: Cannabis
Hmmm...drugs...

I personally have never done weed. Or ANY illegal drugs for that matter. And I've never smoked either.

And I've never been drunk to the extent of 'wasted' or IOW - I've never had a hangover and the most I've been is 'a bit tipsy'. Most lagers I've ever had in 1 go is about 3 (or it MIGHT have been 4) - or 5 small glasses of Jack Daniels mixed in with Coca Cola (MmMm).

And I've never been in a pub except one that I went in to just have a meal and ONE beer - and I didn't go in with friends I went in with family to have something to eat lol.

SO....basically I don't have much experience when it comes to this sort of thing! Whatever this particular 'sort of thing' is classified as? Drugs of ANY form I guess I have quite low experience of even including legal then. Barely had alcohol and never smoked for example (as I said)...

Even when it comes to legal drugs like medicine I've hardly ever needed any because I've barely been physically ill in my life other than a cold or like 2 'tummy bugs' - and the 2nd one was very mild in comparison to the first and the FIRST wasn't even THAT bad.

So I don't take any LEGAL drugs much... - except the Lithium Carbonate that I take at night LOL. That's enough drugs for me pretty much lol.

The question I have is when there are sources saying Marijuana is BAD for you or at least worse than just smoking, and others say that that it's actually BETTER for you than smoking or at least can be very therapeutic in some cases (and some SPECIAL cases), and can even be anti-cancer - which source do you believe? Is the evidence kind of a mixed bad so no one knows which side is valid (or the most valid)?

Yes I have. I actually find myself to be a better driving when I'm high. When I'm sober I usually have a heavy foot, and i drive too fast...

But when I'm high..I drive normal speed because I FEEL like I'm going faster than I actually am lol.

With Cannabis you can stay focused on one particular task, but what that task is varies a great deal. You can drive exemplary at one moment en then notice something odd on the sidewalk and all your attention shifts from driving the car to whatever you saw. That is where the danger lies. And this driving slower is not always a good thing either. Other participants in traffic expect people to drive a certain speed, and if you end up driving 30 on the freeway you are in fact a moving obstacle.

You should never drive under influence of anything, specially perception altering drugs. No matter how good you think it makes you drive. If you are in an accident and the truth comes out you were DUI, you end up paying for all the damages, and your insurance will not cover it. So if a person ends up in a wheelchair because of you, you are really screwed for life. This goes for any drug, not just Cannabis.

It's just plain stupid to drive drunk or high. I know people that have been killed by such drivers, it's both irresponsible and it's as I said really stupid. Those who do drive either high or drunk don't deserve any respect and it's unexcuseble. I don't care if the driver dies, it's about other peoples safety.

People I know and I myself who have been drunk, high or effected by any kind have stilled had some kind of sence to not come up with the idea to drive. Not any veichle.

I think it would be best to learn to drive less fast WITHOUT cannabis! :S - and yet not TOO slow of course.

I did and MadSci, the answer is yes. Unlike others here I had an awful experience in that respect, I was utterly paranoid and there is no way in hell I should have been driving ... WWLD, I have to say that if it was having that effect on you my guess is you were unfit to drive but didn't know it.

And you guessed right!!!
At that time, i was a stupid young man indeed.
Now that i have stopped doing that (and smoking that much too...) i do believe that i was lucky never to end in any accident.
But 20 years old and 30 years old is a world appart (at least in my case), and what is done is done after all.
Nowaday, i condone any kind of ''alternate consciousness'' driving, it is stupid and irresponsable. When i go to my favorite bar, i get there with friends and if no option is avaible latter, i walk home. The bar is only 30 minutes from home on foot, not that bad (and the main reason for it to be my favorite one... LOL!!!).

Yet, i stay on my opinion that for someone who smoke weed relatively regularly, one normal sized joint is not too much for driving OK. As one beer woud'nt be too much for someone who drinks somewhat regularly too.
Wizard's first ruleTongueeople are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true.
