Whats most frustrating to me is how we have learned so much about these illegal drugs, and it hasn't affected drug policy in any big way. Studies show marijuana is by far one of the the safest illegal drugs, yet the laws surrounding it are the harshest they've ever been.

Very true Meatball....
Here where I live (Louisiana)...They do not have a certain amount that you can have on you for it to simply be a felony or misdemeanor.
If you are caught with a roach you can be charged with a felony. Truly sad that Child molesters get off easier than someone who is smoking weed.....Justice my ass.....

I think drugs are part of the things you may wish to experience in life and are not very dangerous to grown-up well-balanced people.
But drugs, alcohol, and all substances that have a central neurological effect are highly dangerous to young people (children and teens) and they should stay protected, even if drugs are legalized for adults.
When you are growing up and coming to terms with who you are, all the sensations you can feel and finding your life goals, if you are subjected to these substances on a regular level it can really mix you up (cannabis and schizophrenia for example) because your brain is maturing and these substances can influence the pattern in witch your synapses grow and rearrange themselves. If your idea of satisfaction becomes the immediate relief drugs can give you there is a high risk you’ll stay hooked up and unable to tolerate frustration and find and appreciate other pleasures of life.
Even in adults every real addiction (I’m not speaking of occasional use of course, but when you start to experience withdrawal symptoms) or addictive behavior (like anorexia) can potentially change your personality! And it takes years and lots of efforts to treat! If you need an example observe older drug users on the street even after they have been clean for several years they stay affected!
A friend of mine uses ecstasy on a regular bases (each weekend) and he’s became nervous, has memory loss, even is sometimes really suspicious of everything even paranoid!

I was watching a film I'd seen only a couple of days ago and I had the knowledge that I knew exactly what was going to happen next but had lost the actual memory of it. Freaky!!!

I agree. I only smoked weed for about two months, and then I quit cuz I decided it wasn't for me.

Legalize it. It's not as harmful as alcohol and can be compared to cigarettes. I've smoked pot for years and I run a lot, have never had brochitis or any other lung problems. I don't know any tobacco smokers that could run one lap around their house without falling over.

I smoke and I can run one lap around my house without falling over.
One.
Only one.
Then I'll fall over.
Then gasp and wheeze for awhile.
But I'll be alright.

Smoke is dangerous to your lungs no matter if it is tobacco or cannabis. Also cannabis have the bad side affect, to men, that it make the sperm quality worse and other sexual disdvantages. Also it affects ones memory too. But it all depends how much a person smokes and what kind.
Also we don't want to become like the dutchmen, damn them

I can run more than one lap around my house, about 5-6 and then I fall over, rest for a minute and then I'm fine.
Personally, it's not God I dislike, it's his fan club I can't stand.
