Happy Nouruz to everybody

Happy Nouruz to everybody
Today is the *first day* of spring.
Nouruz. This holiday is celebrated in many countries around the eastern parts of the world, and we Turks are some of it's most avid celebrators.
Unfortunately, I cannot celebrate this holiday in the open, as we did not receive a green light from the school administration to celebrate it our way, and instead, green light has been given to certain...others.
No matter, I'll celebrate this on a personal level then.

It's also the new year of the dragon according to the old Turkish calendar(The previous year was the year of the Rabbit), what it brings with it are rain, abundance, war and bloodshed.
Eviren/Uluv ulınız kuttu bolsın!

Well, geographically you are likely to get the last 2 somewhere in your country, or near to your borders.

Well, last year was already a good rain season, I'm hoping for a better one this year.
As for the last two, time will show.

Thank you Mehmet.

As it turns out, here in the Southern Hemisphere we are moving into Autumn. Nice thought though.

We DO celebrate the Northern hemisphere spring with Easter.

Below for your pleasure, some pics on the theme of an Aussie Xmas.

I would welcome in the spring like a pagan, naked and frolicking in the woods and streams, except the cops don't take kindly to that here. Tongue

Only wiccans do that.
