I think Jurassic Park is to thank for that one. I still have it kicking around here somewhere on VHS. Yes, that's right, I said VHS.

You must be older than dirt, I know I am, I have some also.

Awww. Come now. 29 is not that old. I was born in the 80s. That was like the VHS heyday!

Your a spring chicken, I'm long past that, I'm a 8mm film kid .

Yes, but do you have any Betamax?

NO, no I don't, did not go that route. I would say those are a rare beast now. Wow, four negatives in one short sentence, bet I'll hear about that.

You ARE old! Well now I feel a little better. Not about being born in the Reagan era just about my VHS collection.Big Grin

VHS, Betamax, and Video 2000? That was hyper modern stuff in the late seventies. Straight out of Star Trek. The first media for the masses that joined sound and moving images in one medium! Remember, we came from 8mm, Super 8, 8-track, reel-to-reel 1/4" tape, and 78 rpm records a.o.

From the nature of satan to VHS versus betamax the internet is truly random!

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

VHS, Betamax, and Video 2000 ushered in the golden age of pr0n for the masses! Finally the people didn't just get to do it themselves, but could enjoy how 'movie stars' did it. A very inspirational era. Big Grin

Ah, reel to reel still one of the best ways to listen to music.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Yup. My pride and joy was a Sony TC 560 ,I bought in Singapore in 1969. (duty free; $180. At home; $520)

I built my own set of speakers : 3 2X3 (I think, might have been six) cubic feet boxes with bass baffle, 2X8inch Kaltro woofers, 2X2.5inch tweeters, set up parallel to the 2 8inch eliptical lid speakers. The recorder had a 20 watt built in pre amp and amp. Plus I knew a record shop where I could get ANY album in the shop put it on tape for 50 cents. (my army pay was $60 a week, half as much again as a labourer at home.)

Yeah, those were the days!
Industrial design was a bit different then Big Grin. You had to look hard to find anything not plastic about them! Only the spindles, the recording heads, the chassis, and the screws were metal. Even the chrome 'trimmings' on the knobs were really plastic. Big Grin

Yup --and HEAVY;solid state;that thing weighed 50 pounds. Amazing frequency response, from 20 to 20,000 mhz. (is the measurement right? I know the range is correct). Played mainly rock and jazz.

From 20Hz to 20,000Hz, or, if you will, from 20Hz to 20Khz.
