Welcome Aboojoo. I wonder if your user name has a reference? If so, I don't know it. I hope you enjoy your time here. I know I have.
I was curious what you meant that you changed your religious view from agnostic to atheist. Had you been a theist still when you were agnostic? Or perhaps you have become a gnostic atheist, actually knowing with certainty that there is no god?
I find that I am pretty equally agnostic and atheistic. Both are important to me for different reasons. The agnosticism permits me to be respectful toward theists because in my heart of hearts I know that he and I are both adults looking up into the same night sky and taking our best guess. They don't know on objective grounds anything I don't know, but the reverse is also true. Atheism is just as important because I don't in fact believe there are any gods. It isn't a very important issue for me to form a belief toward but I regard it as entirely unlikely. I would readily bet the ranch that there isn't a god if there were any way to settle the bet, but from what I know of agnosticism, there isn't. Guess I'll keep my money.

To answer your question, yes I would consider myself a theist during the period I was agnostic (which accounted for a good 10 years of my life).Obviously as a child I would be vulnerable to believe anything so I wouldn't consider any beliefs I had before the age of 10 as genuine.
I was a theist in the sense that I believed that I would ultimately have to answer for my actions when I reach the end of the road. Suffice to say, I don't believe in that anymore. I now believe I answer only to myself and the people who are a part of my life, and that life can be lived with meaning even without god. So I guess I fit the latter description of your question.
Also, thank you to everyone that has welcomed me here! I can certainly feel the love.

But a person of authority (electrician) can still show you demonstrable, step by step method, of how the toaster is really configured to work. While he is at it, he can actually set up another toaster from scratch for you right in front of your eyes. Cannot be said in the context of god or a religionist trying to demonstrate the existence of one.
