Yes, I've heard about it having roots in german related to flicken, meaning to strike or there is that story about the longbowman who kept their middle fingers so they would raise them and tell the army they could still "pluck yew" but I think those are just troll accounts of the etymology of the wonderful word fuck in my opinion.
