good morrow, fair folks
hello, I'm feeling pretty obliged to write this because if not I'd feel as awkward as a humanist at mass. My names is Liam and I am a philosophy enthusiast and student from England, I hope you can all tolerate my presence and I'll be of some value to all of the lovely discussions ahead Smile

Welcome. Do you study philosophy formally or is it just self-directed reading and the like?

It's an A-level and soon-to-be university study, but I must confess that it does absorb more than a healthy amount of my spare time too Smile

why thank you, I am already enjoying it; intelligent people are hard to find nowadays (at least here) and it's such a treat to find a congregation of you all Big Grin

Hiya Liam! Welcome to AF! ^_^
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
