I'm surprised that anyone payed any attention to that comment at all, everyone knows that Drich has a suffering martry timer that goes off every few hours. It's one of the articles of his faith.
(you can also use it to bake apple pies-from scratch)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, I like Drich being here personally - nice to have different views Smile

I think the thing about washing your hands is that apparently it wasn't common knowledge back then that that was useful in any way. I'll see if I can find the passage(s)...

This link has it and more: http://evidencebible.com/witnessingtool/...ible.shtml

Here is a thread about washing in the Bible (I only read the first post as I think that backs up what I'm about to say): http://www.thechristadelphians.org/forum...topic=6013

It seems to refer to SPIRITUAL cleanliness, not physical cleanliness in terms of germs, etc. Water also does not kill germs.

Quote:And when he that has an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself even days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean (Leviticus 15:13)

Quote:As it is billions if not trillions are saved by How God communicated the shape of the world as it is written now, and only lost one. If you are the only casualty from this description of the world, then I think it was a pretty successful wording.

Your grip on reality is getting looser by the day, Drippy. Probably time to seek professional help and some heavy duty medication.

I am not 100% convinced and I do additionally think that Drich has something to offer to this conversation, but at the same time I don't see too much evidence for the spherical Earth suggestion in the Bible.

I think as it stands at the moment it does seem to be referring to a flat circle. Would be good to delve further though.

And man we're not even onto the next points yet though lol Smile

That is because the passage in question is not referencing shape of the Earth, but expressing God's complete dominion over this world. Again shape is not what is being discussed here. to mix the Hebrew and English to come up with an arguement about shape is an act desperation to try and disprove the bible. For what fool relys on picking out only certain parts of a literal Hebrew translation only to ignore the contextual Hebrew to mix in English to derive a completely different message than what the passage states.. This arguement is held together with too many straw men to be taken seriously.

For again if this was about shape then know there isn't a Hebrew word for sphere, which makes the arguement null and void to begin with. Chuwg (not chug) is the transliterated word being used, and it is the closest thing they had to describe this world. So Isaiah used it. Nothing more needs to be added and at the same time nothing can be taken from that either.

OT jews didn't have soap. So what was better? washing with water or leaving the grime of the day/weeks on your hands, skin and cloths?

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but was I talking to you? Or any of the 'we' other than the person who that comment was directed?

That person along with a few others had me ban from another web site for not being an atheist/supporting his thoughts of God.

There's a special offer on martyrs today.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

There really aren't many solid "accuracies" are there? They're all debatable at best and flat-out lies or fabrications at worst!

I'll keep reading them though and see if I can find ANY noteworthy ones... some are just laughably vague o.O

Sorry to not have read the whole thread, but one that struck me was the mention of the 'world hanging upon nothing' in Job.
