The morality of religion

The morality of religion
I was on russian atheist forum few mins ago.
Situation doesn't look good the muslim and christian terrorists are on rampage there.
Anyway atheists there seem to fail most at questions such as "Where universe come from" and "What does it mean to be moral for an atheist".

Well no matter where my morality comes from the thing is that the holy books are man made. Therefore ALL morality from religion comes from ancient dudes.
So an atheist decides himself what is good and what is bad.
In religion an ancient dude tells people what is good and bad.
As Sam Harris said the morality must be updated. We are not going anywhere by doing what ancient herdsmen are telling us to do without questioning it.
So basically admitting that books are man made defeats all religious morality argument altogether.
In both cases it was the human who created the moral values.
It's just that in religion people are doing what the boss(human) tells them to do.
So religious morality depends on the morality of the boss(human).
If the boss happens to be immoral the people are fucked.
No morality at all there. Just following orders. That's what nazi soldiers were doing.

What about origin of the universe those terrorists want us to explain where universe come from without explaining everything themselves.
Also they create god who is "beyond laws of physics" so you can't really argue against anything like that. Not to mention a of aggression from those theists.
Religion was always popular in my homeland so that's maybe why this is happening.
A lot of people also believe in curses you can impose on others and witchcraft and prediction future with magic. I mean WTF.

Religion as being moral? Such an oxymoron if there ever was one!

Christian Morality: God gave us our morals. We live like he says, or we face an eternal hell of fire and torture; on the other hand, if we abide by his rules, we get a ticket to an eternal circlejerk with God, singing praises and singing hymns.

Secular Morality: Humans can derive, from their natural empathy, a logical and rational system for dealings of a behavioral nature. We are capable of looking at past injustices and correcting mistakes, and aren't rigid in the implementation of universal morals. Morality has the potential to change, just like humans- it is, in fact, quite necessary for there to be change, because morals can't stay the same if the human race changes.

The rational consideration of the human state vs a derelict, stringent, and archaic reward-and-punishment system.
I don't think it takes any amount of mental prowess to discern which is the victor.
My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity.
-Bertrand Russell
