God is bored here.

RE: God is bored here.
Quote:How does a Stephen Fry quote make padraic a hypocrite?

It doesn't. The argument is tu quoque AND hypocrisy is part of the human condition. I have never claimed to be free of any human fault.

Please tell me it wasn't the Rev. Catfish who called me a hypocrite. If he did, I just couldn't live with myself and would have to throw myself under a very obese woman.

ROFLOL

Knock old sock, you may call me "Pad"

00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

This for the edification of the bottom-feeding fish.

Quote:Tu quoque (play /tuːˈkwoʊkwiː/),[1] (Latin for "you, too" or "you, also") or the appeal to hypocrisy, is a logical fallacy that attempts to discredit the opponent's position by asserting the opponent's failure to act consistently in accordance with that position; it attempts to show that a criticism or objection applies equally to the person making it. This dismisses someone's point of view based on criticism of the person's inconsistency, and not the position presented.[2] Thus, it is a form of the ad hominem argument.[3]

I must say though, Catfish, for someone who complains so much about whining you certainly do a lot of it.
You really believe in a man who has helped to save the world twice, with the power to change his physical appearance? An alien who travels though time and space--in a police box?!? [Image: TARDIS.gif]

Just remember, it's white whine with catfish.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'm laughing, not whining. There is a huge difference.

Ah I see, you've misinterpreted the quote. Stephen Fry is talking about people getting offended at ideas they don't agree with, not direct insults as was the case with Stevie's remark.

Now you're sounding like a fundementalist. "you've misinterpreted..."

As if fundamentalists are the only people who've ever interpreted anything. Your statement has little to do with anything, sir. Almost a bit ad hominem.

Is has a lot to do with "anything".

Do you speak for Stephen Fry, do you know Stephen Fry's thoughts?

I do not speak for him, I do not "know his thoughts" necessarily. But I understand the context in which his statement was made. That quote is specifically about people who are offended by ideas, not by people who directly insult them.

Gotcha, it all about "context"...

Remember that next time you wish to debate the Bible, k?
