Do your beliefs imply a Necessary being exists?

Do your beliefs imply a Necessary being exists?
Find out by taking this short survey!

http://www.necessarybeing.net/

(Taken from http://prosblogion.ektopos.com/archives/...concr.html)

I can't remember exactly what all of my responses were--because I can't remember exactly what all the questions were and in which order--but my beliefs did imply the existence of a necessary being.

Heads you win, tails I lose. Railroad tactics.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I took one look at it and .... nope.

Obvious trap is obvious. In fact, I'd already watched a Youtube video which confirmed as much before seeing the first question.

Umm, yeah. I took it and all it gave me for results were:

Quote:Your results have been recorded. Thank you for your participation.

You are welcome to take the survey as many times as you'd like.

...what? Are you suggesting that if I can prove that X, Y, and Z entail that a necessary being exists, and you believe X, Y, and Z, that I've somehow done something dishonest ("heads I win, tails you lose")?

Not interested in whether your beliefs logically imply that a necessary being exists? I hope that's not it, because then you'd be actively ignoring the implications of your beliefs.

How is this a "trap"? If you believe X, and X entails that a necessary being exists, wouldn't you like to know that?

What youtube video are you talking about, by the way?

...how is that a trap? Do you know what a "survey" is?

This "Necessary Being"... The definition could cover anything, even human. I can't even answer the first question because of this ambiguity. :/

Did I claim that it was? Because the image I posted was simply a humorous play on the image Stimbo posted.

Kindly take your condescending attitude and shove it.

I simply thought it was curious that both you and the survey's first page implied (though not strongly) that the survey taker would be given an indication as to what one's answers implied.

Nothing more.

Well, there was an "I can't say" option.

Sorry, I assumed that you were agreeing with his characterization and riffing.

To the extent that it is a 'test', it doesn't have strong negative results. That is, if it finds that your responses are sufficient to prove that a necessary being exists, you have a strong result. If it doesn't find that your responses are sufficient to prove that a necessary being exists, then there isn't much of a result (since it might be that your responses are sufficient, but the test isn't sensitive enough to detect that, or that your responses aren't sufficient, or that your responses are sufficient to demonstrate that a necessary being doesn't exist).

Yes, but this is a survey about the one's beliefs in a "Necessary Being". By the definition listed, I would be one.
The Surve Wrote:A Necessary Being is anything that meets the following two conditions:

1. It is possible that it is a cause of something.

2. It is not possible (at any time) that it does not exist.

I cause a nail file to get knocked off the table and I am certain I exist; I am a Necessary Being. The ambivalent nature of this survey needs to be addressed.
