Real Life GoldenEye 64

RE: Real Life GoldenEye 64
Rather than using the metaphor of the father of all FPS games, how about GoldenEye as their Messiah? All FPS's before then were only forerunners; GE64 changed the landscape completely. Just about every FPS to follow was compared to it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

No. I went "I don't own a console." Honestly, I didn't follow the console scene at all. I bought a N64 around 1999, prior to that, the last console I owned was.... the Atari 2600, circa 1978. I shit you not.

I've never played Halo. Really. Honestly, I lost most interest in FPS games with Q3A, and console-only titles never interested me.

I played Halo, enjoyed it a lot; particularly the co-op mode and all the little features such as a personal flashlight for lighting up those forbidding ducts. Lost track of the sequels, mainly because I never got an Xbox 360 to play them on. My nephew Chris, who lives over here with my parents (where the internet lives) has such a machine and I have used it. I just never really got into it the way I did with the N64, Xbox and of course all the consoles predating them.

... the world doesn't make sense anymore.
I need to go lie down with a cold flannel on my head.

Halo is pretty good, nothing mind blowing, but still a really fun game series.

I second the recommendation above..and further..as soon as the world starts making too much sense....it becomes even more important to resort to drowning one's self in strong drink.

Hm. I'm a little shaken... but not stirred.
