The further you get from the political centre the more lies you encounter.

I have encountered these people in my life, while I have no encountered Christian Conservatives.

Interesting; especially in that, if you read the New Testament, Jesus and his apostles and everyone who spread his word, they all lived while depending on the rest of society to feed/cloth/shelter them. If anything, fundamentalist Christians should be the socialists; instead, they fear that word like the plague.

There have been plenty of Evangelical Christians who were and are Socialists. For example; these sort of Christians formed a large slice of the activist base of the Labour parties in Britain, Australia and New Zealand.

Anyway at least in Australia Evangelical Christians, while being very conservative on social issues, hold positions on other issues little different from the rest of the population.

* One of the founders of the Communist Party of Australia John Garden was an Baptist Minister.

I like this Supply Side Jesus, because the New Testament Jesus talks about greed being idolatry, not to mention exhorting people to give all their possessions away in order to get into the kingdom of his father.

What I don't like are the extremists who lie to themselves that that they are the norm, such as conservative Democrats stating their BS is normal for liberals....you see a lot of that on Huffington Post for example.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Nuff said? Were all extremist in one way or another, you don't think theist view us as extreme? I in fact know you are all extremist simply because of how you talk over the internet (though usually very sincere and well expressed which is why i like this forum.) You tend to be, insane sometimes, but I know it is just for fun I do realize the internet encourages insanity.

Why not? Fundamentalists of any belief system have a nasty habit of forcing their philosophy onto everyone else. Christians making everyone live up to Christian standards, socialists who outlaw private ownership, feminists eliminating and/or restricting access to pornography.

I guess that's true. How else would they turn Jesus into a supporter of supply side economics when it includes slashing social programs, a supporter of military intervention any time possible and he was even a victim of the death penalty who is also a supporter of the death penalty. It's nothing new, either; Jesus was also a big supporter of slavery, at least according to the founders of the Southern Baptist Church he was. Hmmmmm...... Jesus was quite the flip flopper, wasn't he?

Yep, read it. I read Al Franken's books a long time ago, when they first came out; or, at least I read the first two. Not certain about the third one but I may have to look it up.
